In Through the Out Door (Led Zep)

I was going thru my itunes library in prep for some songs to take with on the family vacation... and i came across Led Zep's "In Through the Out Door". LZ is one of my favorite rock bands of all time... love'm to death. But for some reason i decided to look into the album artwork for this particular album... this is what it looks like and what i found out about it:

Pretty plain, eh? Well once unwrapped it looked like this:

Pretty cool... but why the brush mark across it? what's it represent? this is what i found out about the art & the artist:

Album sleeve design

The original album featured an unusual gimmick: the album had an outer sleeve which was made to look like a plain brown paper bag, and the inner sleeve featured black and white line artwork which, if washed with a wet brush, would become permanently fully colored. There were also six different sleeves featuring a different pair of photos (one on each side; see images at right), and the external brown paper sleeve meant that it was impossible for record buyers to tell which sleeve they were getting. (There is actually a code on the spine of the album jacket, which indicated which sleeve it was—this could sometimes be seen while the record was still sealed.) The pictures all depicted the same scene in a bar (in which a man burns a Dear John letter), and each photo was taken from the separate point of view of someone who appeared in the other photos.

The album artwork was designed by Hipgnosis. Storm Thorgerson recalls the design in his book Eye of the Storm:

The sepia quality was meant to evoke a non-specific past and to allow the brushstroke across the middle to be better rendered in colour and so make a contrast. This self same brushstroke was like the swish of a wiper across a wet windscreen, like a lick of fresh paint across a faded surface, a new look to an old scene, which was what Led Zeppelin told us about their album. A lick of fresh paint, as per Led Zeppelin, and the music on this album... It somehow grew in proportion and became six viewpoints of the same man in the bar, seen by the six other characters. Six different versions of the same image and six different covers.

In 1980, Hipgnosis was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category of best album package for In Through the Out Door.

It bugs me out how much time and effort was put into album cover design back in the day. Why isn't it like this anymore? Ahhh... ur right... the shit's so saturated now, and all about the $$$$, the art's taken the backseat, hasn't it.

Damn... smh

I can't help but think...

that if we spent more time learning from our peers instead of hatin' on them, we could be just as great if not greater at this shit we call music.

I go on vacation this coming Friday for a good 10 days, and i don't have any shows until i get back. I'll be sure to post pics as the vacay goes by.

The CA Music Fest...

So, the music fest was this past 4th of July weekend, and we had a great time... considering :P

We had some technical difficulties before my first set at this pretty cool neo-soul bar called "Charline's" on the heart of the strip downtown. Apparently they don't have a cd player that links to their pa system, so they had to scurry for some sort of resolution before my time slot was up. It took'em 45m to find a laptop to allow my cd to play through the pa system and sound board. WTF man... you knew i was going to play here WEEEEEEKS ago, and didn't figure that stuff out until 45m AFTER my set was suppose to start... grrrrr. By the time they figured it out, more than half the crowd had left since they weren't playing any music in between the set change... so that made for a fun start of my routine, lol. It all ended up goin' ok though after i started. 10m into the set, people started to fill back in and actually dug what i was throwing at'em... i was surprised considering all the bands before me were funk & soul cover bands. *shrug*

The next night @ Nicholby's wasn't as rough on the technical side, but there was maybe 1/4 of the amount of people that were at Charline's the night before... so yeah, not that big'a crowd. I still had fun rockin' it with the folks that decided to hangout though... met some cool people, ate some good food and overall had a pretty easy weekend.

Oh, and i got sunburned like a mofo... smh.

Here's some pics form the weekend: http://www.flickr.com/photos/35809563@N02/sets/72157621061493056/

Thoughts...

i was watching jamie kennedy's 'heckler' on dvd, and it stirred a lot of thoughts about my current walk through music...

i thought about how back in the day folks would get excited to see talented people do their thing. even if it was something silly as a sword swallower or magician. they would say things like 'wow, i could never do that... it's amazing' and now people seem see u exercise your talents and they just get mad. lol

not everybody digs an ambitious person nowadays. especially when it's a budding natural talent vs. a frail ego.

hmmmm...

Pharrell speaks on MJ's passing

pharrell's a good dude... well spoken and true when he talks about how us musicians aspire to create something just CLOSE to what mj did. it's easier to understand now why some folks just don't get it... and i won't ever expect them to.

dovetailing off that... i find it funny that when you speak so confident about your dreams, goals and even current success or momentum, a lot of outsiders hate on you, assuming you're "just another musician" and that you're so far from being THAT great since they personally know you... i hope that made sense.

it takes so much strength to hold your... Read More tongue and stay positive while they run in place. part of me wants to wake them up and let them know they don't have to settle... but who am i to do that, right?

the kid in me wants to gain the respect and support of everybody i come in contact with, both friend & family... however, the adult & professional in me won't even look back.

The Rhythm Natives & MJ

Last night i went to watch my boys, The Rhythm Natives, play Soul Sessions in chinatown los angeles. I got there around 11:30pm, and there was a line out the door into the parking lot. Now, my boys are pretty dope and all, but 11:30 and a line out the door? It turns out that there also was a tribute to MJ going on as well at the club, and they ended up pulling over 700 heads in a 500 head venue. From the slammin' sounds of the natives to the celebration of the legend that was Michael Jackson, the night ended up being more emotionally stimulating than i expected.

Really REALLY miss that dude, and it's truly unfortunate that we'll no longer be blessed with his work in the future.

The Game show aftermath

so yesterday was a very emotionally draining day... inbetween the wack promotion behind the show and the passing of mj, i truly didn't feel up to doing music AT ALL. however, my friend and manager amara & dj j-heart convinced me that the show must go on, and we showed up to the spot. ionno how i feel about v2o as a venue... not my personal steeze, but it was a purdy venue, lol. all in all the show went really well... all my people showed up and swayed my mood enough to have a good time with them as well as on stage. i rocked a 15m set that seemed to gather most of the 800+ peoples attention. 1 song deep into the set, i moved from the main stage to the go go stage which was elevated a good 6ft off the ground, and to the far right of the main one... it seemed to work out nice as the whole club literally shifted towards me as i moved. that proved that they were followin' along... shit felt good! then i let it loose and wrecked another dope set. at the end a dude & a lady walked up and threw money at my feet, hahahaha! i've had panties thrown at me before, but cash?! SHIT YES! I'M BROKE, I'LL TAKE IT! hahahahaha

the funniest thing about the cash being tossed at me at the sets end, is that the game was throwing cash INTO the crowd while he performed... hmmm... go figure ;)

here's some pics taken by some supporters:

The De La Soul show at the Galaxy... how'd it go?

Man... this show was one of the best times of my life. J-Heart & I rocked a theater with a live performance for the first time (in my life) and had a SHITLOAD of new faces give me props during and after my set. The capper of the evening was when i got to stand on the stage while De La wrecked another epic performance, and even more so when i got to hang with'em backstage on some personal jibber jabber shit. These dudes have been doin' it for 20 years plus some... truly an inspiration for a kid like myself that's up and coming.

You can check out pics & video in a few places:

In regards to the De La Soul show this weekend

Peace to all those that plan on supporting De La Soul & I this Saturday! It's gonna' be an amazing show!!!

If you haven't copped your tickets yet, please do so at www.JacewonMusic.com/Tickets (credit/debit cards and paypal) - The more presale tickets i have sold come showtime the better I look to the promoters & venue manager(s), which means bigger and better shows in the future. Besides, you don't want to pay the extra $ at the door, or even worse, risk having the show sellout after you've driven all the way down there.

For those that don't want to purchase the tickets online or have cash, we can arrange a pickup in person... just email AmaraReps@Gmail.com and we'll handle it. If you've already arranged a ticket pickup with J-Heart or myself, please follow up with us to make sure you're ok to go!

Don't forget, this is an all ages show!

Thanks again for the support!

Considering i usually only get to rock for 15-20 minutes, i'm ridiculously hyped :) When i open for the big heads, i try not to touch their music... like, rock over their shit considering they'll prolly' do it themselves that night, but fuck, it's De La... i wanna have fun with it! So yeah, look forward to some treats come the night of the show...

Performing with The Game & ONT

So i gotta show at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA this friday... which i'm excited to do, n'shit. However, I got another show AFTER the De La Soul show that i'm sorta' looking forward to do MORE. Why? Why more than the De La Soul show? It's the amount of exposure this show will give me and my boys ONT. Apparently there's gonna be a lot of attention on this one... XXL mag, radio stations etc.

So, yeah... try and make it if you can. It's at V2O in Long Beach, and tickets are $30 if you grab'em from me, or $32 online via the jacewonmusic.com ticket link:

Spring EP in the mix...

I'm going to be releasing an EP this spring with a very talented producer from Germany who goes by the name of "Dave Def". Some of you may be familiar with his work... after all, he produced the track that myself, Surreal and Othello got down on late last year.

The best part about it? It's gonna be out before summer, so you don't have to keep asking me silly questions in regards to the mixtape i just dropped...

"hey jace... were you trying to be pop on this?"
"dude... why did you choose commercial beats?"

*shakes head

Anything else? Ummm... oh, yeah it's gonna cost you money to get the ep, hahah *points*. That is unless you're a dick and decide to download it illegally. *shakes head*

What else? Ummm... oh, shows. shitload of shows coming stupid soon.

Cool... that's it for now.

Love you,

Jace

Hopefully you've RSVP'd for the release party event this Saturday. If not... f-u, you're an a-hole.

Oh yeah, I asked the folks that run the rhythm section event if i could possibly spit a couple verses from the mixtape, and was excited to hear that they're ok with it.

Make sure you don't bring your kids... I plan on spittin' the dirty ones.

Peace to 1980's Eddie Murphy ;-)

The Artwork & Headless Models...

So the cover art for the tape is done.... peep:

I like how it came out. Makes me laugh thinking we hired a shitload of models for the shoot, and the money shot ended up being one with their heads cutoff.

Chris Brown's a Dumbass...

So pushing the tape’s release back a month wasn’t what I wanted to do... Not at all. However, I’m going to be able to add a couple elements to it that I wanted to add from the jump, but just didn’t have the time or resources to do so.

I guess what I mean to say is, the tape’s gonna’ be THAT much fresher thanks to the time added. More skits, a better mix, and no cuttin’ corners. Hell, I may even run off some promo discs to hand to people who are too cool to download the tape online.

Holler.

TGFS&BJD.

Peace, n’stuff.

Oh, and yeah... Chris Brown’s a dumbass.

Steaks & Blowjob's

So here's the deal...

I've been grindin' on this tape for the past few months, trying my best to make sure it's the dopest it can be without cuttin' any corners, right? Well, this past month has become my favoritist month of the year so far... wonderin' why? Lemme explain...

1. 6 songs I wrote for the tape were corrupted when i transfered them to my thumb drive.
2. My iMac shat on me 3 weeks into the project, and i've been without one for 2 weeks. I had it looked out to find out it was a fatal shat, and i had to get a loaner. No biggy, right? Just use the loaner, right? Yeah... the loner shat on me too. HOWEVER, i'm now with a working mac... smaller, but it's workin'.
3. My audio interface (external sound card) shat on me. Yeah, it's been actin' buggy, but wtf man. Can I catch a break here?
4. My cat chewed through my 1/4 cables & favorite headset.

Factor in the above plus the fact i've been working overtime at the 9-5 for the past 3 weeks, leaving me about 2-3 hours of recording/writing for the tape once i get home... yeah, the tape isn't going to be ready for the release on the 14th of this month.

What am I gonna do? The only thing I CAN do...

Push it to March 14th... STEAK & BLOWJOB DAY.

Hahahah... as pissed off as I am for not meeting my personal deadline, and as livid as i am for having to replace more equipment than i've ever had to in my entire life of recording, I'm sorta' cool with the new release date.

So yeah... just wanted to drop a line and let y'all know the deal. I'm sorry about the delay... but it will be well worth the wait, i promise your stank asses.

Peace, n'shit.

Mixtape Cover Photo Shoot...

So, about 3 weeks left until the mixtape is out there, and we finally nailed down the photo shoot for the cover art & promo shits. We had a ton of beautiful people that showed up for the shoot, and it went really well... just wanted to holler at'em and say thank you for all the help & talent.

*my holler*

Now on to the Orpheum dude...

While out on the broadway strip, we were snappin' some shots along the sidewalk when some meathead security guard runs out on some "yo, son, y'all can't be snappin pics up in here". So naturally the photographer was like "yo, this is a public sidewalk, and we should be ok to snap whatever pics we want". The security dude didn't dig that, and kept jabbin at the photo man with more insults, and soon it started to get a lil' heated... so, being the peace maker i am, i walked up to him and asked that he go give his partner a handy & stfu. By then the building manager came out, claiming to be the "block owner"... pause for laugh, and told us we had to move on or he was gonna call the police.

wow.

So i asked homeboy if he needed a hug or someshit, which he didn't appreciate for some reason as he kept shoo'n us along the sidewalk.

Now, I personally don't know the rules/laws for shooting pictures in los angeles, but as far as i know, you can take pics anywhere you want from the sidewalk... right? Well, whatever... we ended up gettin' run out by the building's manager soon after the insults and ended up in front of my building (just a block away) for the rest of the street shots.

All in all, the shoot went great... it did last longer than expected, as most of the folks involved headed out before we could fully finish, but yeah... it was fly. We ended up wrappin' it up on the roof with the few folks that stuck around, as well as some local volunteers from the building. I haven't seen any of the proofs yet, but i'm confident that the pics will be sick as a mofo.

or some’shit like that.

Obama in the house... literally.

i'm feelin' great (what cold?).

i'm writing even better (what's writers block?).

& we gotta fly representative in the white house now (bush who?).

feelin' like i may have turned over a new leaf (still sensitive?).

can't wait for this tape to be done >_<

The Concept vs. The Tracklist

Most of y'all have listened to the audio clip on the myspace, explaining the concept behind the mixtape... however, a handful of y'all are still asking me wtf it's about.

For those lost, here's the skinny...

I'm taking a handful of tracks that're currently running on the radio & mtv, and i'm flippin' the lyrical content so it pertains to the ups and downs of a bachelor (myself) out here in the city of angels.

Why am I doing this? Cause I feel like it... and more importantly, to keep my name in your ear until the re-release of the loose-leaf & my full length which comes out later this year.

Here's a taste of (but not all of) the tracks that'll be flipped on the mixtape, in no particular order:

Lil Wayne's "Comfortable"
Big Boi's "Royal Flush"
Jay-Z's "Jockin' Jay-Z"
Slim's "So Fly"
Ludacris' "One More Drink"
Kanye West "Amazing" (of course with the auto-tune)
Ron Browz "Pop Champagne"
Ice Cube's "Why Me"
Max B's "I Gotta Habit"
David Banner's "Get Like Me"
And much, much more...

So yeah, man... shit's gonna be fun to flip these tracks. We all spend enough time knockin' these cats for doin' bubble gum hip-hop, now i'ma dip my toes in it for shits & giggles, and at the same time be so sincere with it.

Holler?

Sick Widit'

So i haven't posted shit since like, last year or somethin'... i 've been sick since the 3rd. Nah, not because of the celebration, bitches (peace to rick james)... but i caught a nasty head cold that put me out for a week. But fear not... i'll be back in effect mode shortly.

This month is crunch time.

Mixtape almost a month away.

Holler at ya'boy like i left the toilet seat up.

Check It... I'm So Nice Right Now.

as i promised, here's the blurb about my run-in with the shorty in the salmon colored range out on the 405 last weekend...

i was headed back to the city after visiting my folks out in south orange county, when i found myself stuck in gridlock traffica at 2pm on a fuckin' saturday afternoon.

Is that even possible? 2pm, weekend, and gridlock with NO accidents or roadwork on a 5 lane highway?
LEARN HOW TO DRIVE IN THE RAIN PEOPLE!

anyways... after bitchin' and moanin' about it while flipping through what they call "radio" nowadays, i noticed this SUPER DUPER fly shorty roll up to the left of me in this pink/orange colored range rover. most cats would flip out at a custom painted range with a shorty like this in it, but this is southern orange county... land of ridiculously fly cars, fake boobs, the best hot dogs on planet earth & of course, women like this one...

i tried to get her attention by sticking to the side of her as we rolled at a MEAN 3-5mph, but had no luck. so, i decided to pull what would (in my opinion) be the next best way to get her attention... roll the window down and yelp out:

"HEY!"

ok, i'm kidding...

but yeah, i DID decide to roll the window down and sorta' lean to the side like andre 3000 back in 96' (when outkast was good), and try my best to look like she SHOULD be scopin' me as i was her... thinkin' to myself "Check it... i'm so nice right now".

well, the shit didn't work.

just as i rolled the window down, traffic let up and we started to pick up the pace JUST in time for a motorcyclist to race by and damn near clip my arm which was hangin' out the window like the herb i was. of course THIS catches her attention as the ruff ryder lays on his horn after he rips by, and politely gives me the longest finger he's got available while trying to avoid eatin' asphault.

by this time the chic in the salmon colored range is ROFLHAO while i roll my window back up and take the next exit to run from any more humuliation.

so... aside from the obvious, what did we learn that day?

outkast is still good... and i STILL suck at women.

Merry Winter Solstice up in this bitch.

Happy holiday's peoples. May all your wishes come true, n'shit.

Peace.

*Oh, almost forgot... got another entry comin' this weekend involving 405 super-traffic, wack radio, rain, a motorcycle & a fly ass chic in a salmon colored range rover.

True speak.

Company holiday jack moves.

Happy holiday's mofo's, n'shit.

Last week my 9-5 held it's annual holiday party at our new offices out in west la. the gig was ridiculously fly. i mean, full OPEN bar, sushi, mother fuckin' steak, chicken, KICK ASS TATERS, the oh-so-fresh photo booth, and of course... the 2 bi/lesbian women that decided to try and steal my date.

yeah, you read it right... my date damn near got jacked by a couple of bi/lesbian women.

you don't make that type of shit up, man.

so how'd it go down? check it...

i normally don't take dates to company events, but i was like... fuck it, why not this time around. try somethin' new or some shit, right? i gave one of my friends a call and asked if she'd like to rollout with a brother. she's like:

"omg, f'sher. i'd love to mr. jace."

so i'm like:

"cool, chic. meet at my building around 6 and we'll rollout from there... oh, and LOOK FLY GOTDAMNIT!"

wish i wouldn't have said that...

cause we hit the party about an hour after it started (always fashionably laggin'), and walk in the door like "haaaayyyy raaadies!". and i mean, AS SOON AS WE MOTHER FUCKIN' WALK IN, the first of my bi/lesbian co-workers walk up like "hey, jace... who's this?". and grab her by the arm, and walk off like i was some mark ass buster, while my boy's on the side gettin' his "hi my name is" name tag on, ROFLHBAO.

who does that... seriously? and at a company function even more so!?

so i'm like, don't trip jace... grab a drink, she'll be back. don't sweat it g. play the polar bear, and be coooooool.

cool. i go and grab a drink with my boy DeLane, and we sorta' make fun of the situation like, it could be worse right? so anyways... they end up circling back and both are gigglin' on some middle school shit. i'm like:

"wtf was that about... shit ain't cool"

bi/lesbian #1 says she was just introducing herself to my date, and love is love.

*crooked face*

my date grabs my arm, and is like:

"let's go grab some crab cakes or some shit, mr. jace"

i'm like, yeah, let's DO that... and right as i say that, the 2nd one waltzes up one some OH SNAP WHAT DO WE GOTS HERE?

and of course... takes her from my arm and rides off into the sunset with my biddy.

get the fuck outta' here with that shit!

my boy D is laughin his ass off again, and damn near spits the crab cake that he just shoveled into his mouth, into the hair of this giraffe standing in front of us. we skate to the side so he's not caught spittin' shell fish into the huge chics hair, and they circle back... but not just the 2 of them. apparently the 1st chic caught them making rounds, and decides to make it a 3some (don't trip fellas... it sounds cooler than it was).

by now i'm like...

"look, if y'all wanted a date, you shoulda brought your own. stop fuckin' around and hand her over." (with my serious bidness face on)

by then, my date's crackin' up, and so are the other 2, while my boy DeLane is still shootin' food out his mouth like a 2 year old in a high chair.

now check it out... i'm a funny dude. i love to poke fun, and i love gettin' in the mix of some practical jokes and what not, but this wasn't the case. these chics were chicken hawkin' this evening, straight up. i mean, you could see it in there fuckin' eyes...

so yeah, to make an even longer story short... i of course left with my date in one piece, but the scars... yes, the scars are there for life.

damn near c-blocked by a couple of bi/lesbians.

*shakes head*

ain't that some shit.

Hula Herbin' it.

This week's been murder... straight up. in between finishing up this mixtape, writing for my full length, grindin' away at my glorious 9-7 & what some people call sleep, i was able to make it out to Cal Poly Pomona to support a good friend & her dance team. And I'm not talkin' about your typical dance team... this shit right here??? Was a Polynesian dance team.

*eyebrow wiggle & jack tripper hand bite*

Yeah... hula dancers, dipshits. You know... the ones that wiggle their hips like that Kermit the Frog spanglish singin', Shakira?

Yeah... so, yeah, shit was off the hook.

About half way through the show, a couple of the dancers took a different approach to what i'd consider your typical hula dancin', as one of the hotties grabbed a mic and started to blow like some fuckin' Polynesian R&B diva. And if that wasn't enough to make u sit crooked, halfway through her set, another hottie skeets from behind the curtain in this long, black, form fittin' dress that damn near made me stand up and act a fool like some audience member on the Arsenio Hall show (google it, youngin's). So this chic starts movin' in this hybrid of a hula/mating dance, along with homegirl beltin' out some islandic' melody... sheeeyowwwww!

As expected, i took note of the 2 biddies and MADE SURE to talk to my homegirl about'em right motherfuckin' after the show.

So, to make an even longer story short... the show ends, i moonwalk over to my homegirl like "introduce me... NOW". She's like "i got an even better idea... wanna go chill in the greenroom with'em?"

*richard pryor like eyebrow raise*

So yeah, i do the Usher foot slide all the way to the back with my pink rice krispy treat that i bought at intermission (i know, random right?), and post up outside the dressing room like... yeah, you know what i'm sayin.

*thizzzzzzzzzface*

One by one they "hula" themselves out of the dressing rooms, smiling at a brother on some "hey, how u doin" shit. AND OF COURSE, your boy clams up and just plays around on his celly like he'd rather be fishing.

WTF, man... not again.

So i end up sayin' FUCK IT, and finally build up enough balls to approach the singin' one... and RIGHT when i go to clear my through, her mother steps out of the shadows, like some scene in Batman.

WTF MOMS!?

Apparently they're in a rush, so i step back and go right the fuck back to my phone-fondelling.

So yeah... all in all, no, i didn't get any play... just introduced to a couple of my homegirls friends out in the back as i walked her to her car, and then called it a night.

Hi... i'm Jace, and i suck.

What's Happa-ning?!

The last few days have been mad hectic for a brother, so I apologize for not updatin' the bloggy blogg in the past couple days... but yeah, you're over it, and you're here, so stfu.

So this past Friday was the 2 Year Anniversary for Boombox out here in Los Angeles @ The Grand Star Jazz Cafe... it's sorta' my "Cheers" when it comes to LA bars/clubs. I showed up with the hawmie' Dert via our bicycles (yeah, i said bicycles... don't trip, we keep'em clean). So yeah, we got there and the place popped off as usual; sick music, wonderful vibe, and of course the waitress.

Yes... "The waitress".

See I've crushed on this girly for a bit now, and i'm pretty cool with it just being a crush, right?

So anyways... we're posted outside of the spot towards the end of the night, and "the waitress" walks out to catch some chill time with the peoples and just chop it up with a few friends of hers.

I'm standin' like, 20ft from her when i whisper to my homegirl: "Man, she's fly as a motherfucker. What do you think she is? Happa?"

My homegirl doesn't think so, and to prove me wrong, she decides to walk right up to her on some "yo, excuse me... don't mean to interrupt but, what's your ethnicity?" The waitress is like "i'm 100% japanese". So of course, my homegirl spins around like "this dude thought you were white", and points at your boy.

:-/

At this point i'm redder' than De La Hoya’s face after the Pacquiao fight (if you wanna call it that), and the waitress is like "oh is that right???", and smirks.

So now my word fumblin' ass has to interact with this dime piece on some save my ass shit. I tell her nah, i thought she may have japanese but not 100%. She then giggles and holds her hand out to introduce herself to me, cracks a joke and sorta just hangs there... like waiting for me to converse or someshit. So i go ahead and say somethin' like "yeah, so... u on a break, or some shit?"

She laughs, nods, and goes back inside the bar while I stand there with my homegirl and she's like:

"nice line Shakespeare".

*shakes head*

the story ends there.

Hot dog thievin' tricc's.

So i met with my boy Surreal this evening in regards to some web/music/life shit, and all went really well (love that dude). After he bounced, i hit the roof to grill up some dogs on the bbq (you are NOT knowin' about my dogs. ask plann.b).

Now, my rooftop is a common area that's shared by all types of folk that live in the building... which is cool, right? Shit, i don't mind choppin' it up with my building's people and all... but when heads from other buildings just mosey on up in this bitch, THAT'S when i gotta problem. And this is why...

I met some fly honies hangin' by the gazebo, and i started conversation with'em while i got my grill on. They said they were from the lofts down the street, and were there with another building resident who went to the store to get more drank.

*pops collar*

So the gentleman i am, i offered to run down to my flat and grab a couple of dranks to pass the time, and grab the hot dog buns that i forgot to take on the way up (ask dert. i always forget the buns). Now, seeing that i had made peace with these biddies already, i figured all would be good if i dipped downstairs, right?

Wrong.

I get back up to the grill maybe 2 minutes later, and both of my hot dogs are gone... and no sign of where these hot dog jackin' hoodrats went.

Who in the fuck lifts other peoples food? And ESPECIALLY off a hot grill?!

I hope to ALL the gods that i catch these tricc's up on my roof another night. I mean, I'm not plannin' on doing anything drastic at all... nah. But i do have some "special" dogs soakin' in some "special" shit, just incase i run into them again...

The taco chic.

Yeah, the taco chic... not the tattoo chic. (fuckin' slug fans)

I was down the street this eve grabbin' some beef tacos (peace to the vegans), and met this thai girly named "Ameri" (no clue how she spelt the shit) who was ordering the same thing, minus the cilantro & onions. Now the reason i bring up the fact she had no cilantro or stank vedgie with her tacos, is cause it swung into a pretty good conversation between me and this chic while we ate.

I swore i felt some sort of vibe from her, so i asked her out... and of course, i got the gasface.

Why? Fuck if i know... but the shit bothered me. Afterall, she asked ME to sit with her and grub! It's like, yeah, i know i shouldn't have expected anything out of the whole episode, but i really was diggin' homegirl and figured i prolly' wouldn't see her again anytime soon, so why not?

And before you jump to conclusions, no, i wasn't sleazy with the approach...

"So, yo... we should do this again sometime, minus the flies and bus exauhst."

That's not that bad, right? I mean, I don't fuck with one liners unless it's a joke to start... so ionno, man. Maybe she had a dude or chic...

Or maybe she wasn't into rappers or someshit.

*shrug

The blog.

I really had to kick myself in the ass to start this thing. I've never ran a blog, and I've never even followed a blog before. Yeah, i know... and it's the end of 2008, right? Get with the times, right?

Suck it...
